How to Find Us

Although Gilwell Park is less than 30 minutes’ walk from Chingford overland railway station, please be advised that both routes (via Bury Road or using the bridleway) can be hazardous – if you choose to arrive at centre using either route, please do so with caution.

Bury Road only has a partial footpath and sections closer to Gilwell Park will require walking in the road, whereas the bridleway is unlit and ground sometimes waterlogged, depending on weather conditions. We recommend that visitors choosing to walk either route after dark use a torch, and that all visitors but especially young people walking via Bury Road wear a high visibility vest.

As another option, taxis are available from Chingford station for approximately £5.00 for a four seater vehicle.
